Richard Kolk
Senior Vice President, Engineering & Technology
Mr. Kolk, a Willis Carrier Fellow and commercial control engineering manager during his 23-year career with United Technologies and Carrier Corporation, leads PaceControls’ research and development team in the development of next-generation products, and in its ongoing joint product development activities.
Mr. Kolk has extensive experience in multi-site and multi-disciplinary engineering management with large and small teams, and in HVAC control system design, dynamics, control analysis, and product reliability. He is an author of nine patents in the field of control design, has been published in numerous professional journals, and is the co-author of two textbooks on mechatronic system design.
Mr. Kolk earned a B.S.E.E. degree from the University of Connecticut, and an M.S.E.E. degree from California State University-Long Beach. He served as an adjunct professor for over 20 years at the University of Hartford, where he was awarded the Gordon Clark Ramsey Award for Creative Teaching Excellence.
