Connecticut Public Utilities Commission Approves PaceControls Technology for New Peak-Demand Reduction Program

Sponsored by New England Energy Management, a leading Connecticut-based energy service company with a national client base, PaceControls’ PACE2/PACE3 product suites were recently approved for deployment in a new Connecticut Department of Public Utility Control-administered program, aimed at reducing peak-load demand on the electric grid.
Under the Electric Efficiency Partners Program, PACE2/PACE3 retrofits installations on air conditioning equipment are eligible for incentive awards of $46 per ton of air conditioning, up to a maximum of $625 per HVAC unit.  These incentives make PACE2/PACE3 retrofit projects an excellent, quick-payback cost-saving measure for nearly all commercial and industrial properties.  They also provide substantial electric grid benefits, by lowering the electric demand from air conditioning – since air conditioning is a large contributor to middle-of-the-day peak electric loads.
Scott Hinson, president of New England Energy Management, noted “We are excited about the large potential to expand our services to our clients in Connecticut under the EEP Program.  In addition to lighting retrofit services – we are now able to implement demand response technologies and deliver 15%-20% average HVAC electric savings to our clients.”
