PaceControls Completes BFTP Review, Expands Joint Product Development and ARRA Program Activities
PaceControls and Ben Franklin Technology Partners recently met to review the company’s progress on next-generation product suite development, which is partially supported by BFTP funding. BFTP is a nationally recognized innovation funding program of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and a 2009 study by the independent Pennsylvania Economy League showed that investment in early-stage technology companies and in innovation in established manufacturers in Pennsylvania from 2002 to 2006 grew Pennsylvania’s economy by over $9 billion, returning $3.50 for each $1 spent, and creating thousands of new high-wage jobs. BFTP’s Regional Director, John Johnston, expressed satisfaction after the meeting, noting “We’re pleased with the progress that PaceControls is making, and with the team that they’re assembling”.
The company continues to expand its slate of collaborative joint product development initiatives, which now includes programs in Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and California. With development partners, the company has also won energy conservation program funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), for projects involving its products in several states. “As an ENERGY STAR Partner and made-in-USA product line, we’re a perfect fit for ARRA energy programs, and in some instances we’re also partnering to provide job training under these programs”, said Tom Mills, PaceControls’ President.
